You all know I am a huge fan of the Shop Local Shop Small movement! A great example of a local and small business hub is Barracks Road Shopping Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. This shopping center is located just off the Rt. 29 bypass, conveniently a short drive off of I-64, in Albemarle County in Central Virginia. Generations of Virginians have shopped at Barracks Road, which dates back to 1957! My family has often used Barracks Road as a meeting place. Growing up in the Shenandoah Valley, cousins, my parents and Aunts would meet at Barracks Road for a great meal and shopping. I have so many memories getting a hot chocolate and then reading Betty & Veronica comics with my cousin at Barnes & Noble.
