Friday’s Fancies #125: Neon Nights

My first post for Friday’s Fancies, as dreamed up by {av} at Long Distance Loving every week, is below:

Friday's Fancies: neon nights

Topshop dress, $92 / H&M chiffon top, $20 / Emilio Pucci cotton blazer, $1,833 / J Brand skinny fit jeans, $330 / Christian Louboutin shoes, $775 / Le Silla leather sandals, $905 / Chanel handbag, $1,999 / Marc Jacobs leather bag, $208 / Balenciaga bracelet, $555 / Pieces necklace, $43 / Marc by Marc Jacobs leather bracelet, $95 / Alexis Bittar drop earrings, $100

If it was this time last year I would have included the awesome neon dresses that were at Nanette Lepore for Spring 2012! I hope you like what I came up with instead. Sometimes it is fun to pair a bright neon with a neutral, like neon yellow-green with black. It is so sleek. Another great option is the unique, but somehow it works, neon yellow-green accessories with a white tank and blazer, peach-neon-pink skinny pant, and nude sandals. This looks is really Miami Beach in the 80s, but if you are confidant you can pull it off.

I have been getting {av}’s Long Distance Loving emails for months and months. Even though I am quite tech-proficient, I have neglected to actually do a link up of hers. Whomp whomp. She sends us her ideas for posts (with very little direction!). Then our creative juices start flowing. Our directions this week from {av} were, “share a pop of neon to help brighten up your week.” I knew exactly what to do!

  1. Thank you ladies! I always see your posts and get a little green (neon green?) with envy. I decided to spend my lunch break at work making my post as a happy distraction after such a tumultuous week. Love!

  2. I agree that it is daring, but don't you love the classic silhouette is has going for it? I think that kind of makes it easier to wear. I agree that neon is kind-of intense and hard to wear unless you want to be BOLD!
