Wedding Wednesday: shoes

Well, I finally bit the bullet and got my wedding day shoes! I honestly cannot believe how long it has taken for me to find the perfect pair of shoes for my wedding! As a bride, I know we sometimes get OCD but my dress has so many particular and intricate details that I needed to find a very specific shoe. When my Mom told me she thought they would be perfect that was what settled the matter. I am so happy! The shoes are the Badgley Mischka “Salsa” Pump in vanilla satin. The 3″ heel is the perfect height and the vanilla color is perfect for my dress. The jewel detail goes with the wedding theme and my dress. I am excited to see how the dress looks with the shoe but know I will be happy!

I did almost get one of several Manolo Blahnik shoes – however, when compared to my dress, the silver was always too dark and the white was too white! They also are rarely less than 3.5-4″ tall and then I could not wear them all night. So, Badgley Mischka’s were my next bet!

How long did it take you all to find your perfect shoe?

Previous entries about my wedding shoe hunt here (Nov 2010!) and here (Aug 2010!). Also, if you are looking for these shoes in a different size, Bloomingdales has them. I ordered them from Endless as they had my size in stock (ONE pair of them was left! Yikes!) and because Endless is on Ebates – so I got them for almost $20 off! If you’re a bride-to-be and online shopper like me, going with Ebates can save you money way faster than I ever thought – it adds up quickly.

  1. Thanks Lindsay! I am going to check out your blog this eve when I get home from work! I do love living just outside of Cville… it is a fun place!

  2. Congrats on your wedding!! You are going to be a gorgeous bride and those shoes are spectacular. So funny to see that you are from the south because I was reading an article about the real meaning behind the phrase “bless you heart.” So many questions to ask because I'm living my bridal dreams through you at the moment? Did you ever have a bridezilla meltdown?

  3. Congrats on the wedding, and on the shoes. This is a huge deal, your shoe choice is gorgeous! They remind me of those Carrie Manolos, which for me is super special. xx

  4. I still haven't found the perfect shoes. I just returned a very simple J Crew dress and traded it in for a more detailed Tadashi Shoji number so my shoe choices are slightly more limited… plus, I still pine for a pair of Valentino booties, le sigh.

Your shoes are gorgeous and I am sure they look PERFECT with your dress because you will just be radiating beauty on that day! xoxo

  5. Thank you so much Tia! I have not had a bridezilla meltdown yet, but I def have had some moments where I wanted to crawl into a ball and have a good boohoo moment. It is such a time-consuming process!

  6. Thank you so much Arden. Those Carrie Manolos are great but I decided blue would be too much with my dress! I look forward to sharing more with you all about my wedding plans…

  7. Amanda, seriously finding the perfect shoes literally took ages. Look at me, almost two years worth of hunting for them! I think you will love your Tadashi Shoji dress so keep hunting around and you might be surprised where you find them. Good luck and thank you for being so sweet.

  8. Those shoes are so fabulous! I'm sure they will look stunning with your dress! When it comes time to plan my own wedding, I already know that selecting the dress and shoes will be the most difficult (and fun) part! I'm so particular about both!
